Yesterday ex Liverpool player Stephane Henchoz retired from football. Let me be the first at OurKop to wish him all the best for the future and hope his coaching plans go well for him. His playing career saw him play for 7 professional clubs in all including Celtic, Blackburn (twice), Wigan and of course our beloved Reds. He played a total of 205 times for Liverpool whilst forming a partnership with Hyppia. We all know he wanted to finish his playing days at Liverpool but fell out of favour when Carragher was moved full back into the middle with great effect.

I have to say when compared to the crazy money being threw about for plyers in todays inflated market the £3.5mill we paid for him sounds a bargain. I will never forget his great defending on the line in the 2001 FA Cup Final and love the fact that my Gooner mates still talk about it with such anger and distain. So again, thanks Stephane for the memories and your efforts and time at LFC

Thank you Stephane. Will never forget the great partnership he formed with Sami. As Dave said, 3.5m for him was a give away for the service he gave us.
