Torres returns home for the first time, and even more CL action against PSV. Personally I wish we had gotten some new faces, but all in all we ought to progress fairly easily. We have 3 decent sides in the group but really none on our level. I think that may be even better than sharing a group with another contender and 2 minnows. In this case our competition ought to beat themselves up for us, so as long as we can take care of business, we ought to be in that last 16 yet again.
I think we got a tough group. Athletico is a legit side with Forlan and Ageurro, or however you spell it. Also, PSV is s decent Dutch side and are much more formidable than a Standard Liege. Lastly, Marseille is the epitome of an average CL team and with the way we are playing I do not think any game is a walkover.
Not a bad draw for us, it could have been worse but I am quietly confident that we will go through. We be interesting to see what kind of a reception Torres gets on his return to Madrid. Hopefully by the time the last game away to PSV comes we would have qualified already.
PSV to finish 4th in my opinion. They’ve looked worse and worse everytime I’ve seen them.
All in all not a bad draw, i was glad to stay away from Juventus and Zenit who have ended up in the hardest group with R.Madrid.
I think to be honest it’s not that tough of a group but I do dread having to play against Atletico Madrid because they in my opinion will be out to prove a point!! Aguero is an absolute quality player and Forlan is a thorn in our side always!!! They also have some good tactical midfielders but again the man to watch is Aguero!!!
I hope that torres will get over his love for his formaer club and bury them!!
