It looks pretty certain now that Xabi Alonso will not be going to Juventus. This after Juventus completed the signing of Christian Poulsen who will be playing in the role Alonso was meant to play there. And the fact that Juventus boss, Claudio Ranieri has said he just wants to sign a goal keeper now and that will be him done in the transfer mark, suggests that the Alonso deal is over. So now Alonso will not be going to Juventus and there does not seem to be another team after him, what will happen next?

Either Rafa is going to hold onto Alonso and forget about signing Barry; something I would have no problems with or Rafa is going to sign Barry and Alonso will still say; something I would be even more happier with. Or the most likely scenario; someone is going to come after Alonso and get him for a knock down fee so Rafa can use the cash from the sale to get Barry.

Alonso has said he does not mind staying at Liverpool and I also don’t mind. We have all been debating whether we prefer Barry or Alonso. As things stand, Alonso is a Liverpool player and Barry is not so let’s rather focus on what we have and that is Alonso.

There is a slight possibility that Alonso could be on his way to Atletico Madrid as part of the deal that would bring Sergio Aguero to Liverpool. Now that would be the perfect scenario for me.
