It is understood that Liverpool have turned down a £9m bid for Peter Crouch from Portsmouth. Apparently Rafa wants £10m for the tall striker. I think Rafa should just accept the £9m and get rid of Crouch and we can have some cash in the bank. It is clear Crouch is not part of Rafa’s plans so he may as well just get rid of him whilst there is an offer on the table.

Getting rid of Crouch will hopefully pave the wave for the arrival of David Villa and David Silva. I am pretty sure Vorinin is also going to leave this summer as he did nothing for me the whole of last season. Which will mean only Torres and to a certain extent, Kuyt will be the only strikers we have and thus it is important for Rafa to get Villa or Silva.

If Rafa can get £50m to spend from the American owners who are now talking to each other again (a good sign) then I think Rafa could get his men i.e. Villa, Silva and Barry. But for now, Rafa should just accept the Crouch bid and add the £9m onto the money received from the Riise sale.
