With all the talk currently about who is leaving and who is staying, I have decided to ask you this question: What do you think of the starting eleven below, if there were to be the best eleven we can put out next season:

Reina in goal, Dossena at left-back, Deggen at right-back, Carragher and Agger in central defence, Mascherano in the holding role in midfield, Barry in central midfield, Babel wide down the left, Bentley wide down the right, Gerrad just behind the striker and Torres upfront.

Pretty much the same formation as this past season but with new wingbacks, a new right winger and Barry in midfield in place of Alonso. Could this team challenge for the Premiership? I think we can do better and need one or two world class players to through in there. Maybe Quaresma down the right instead of Bentley and Alves at right-back.

I’m not too sure about Agger at left back Kyle. I don’t think we can see his best in that position.

I just think that Skrtel needs to start and let’s not forget the cracker that Agger scored against West Ham (FROM LB). You may be right, but we will see.

        • Ron says:

How can I forget that goal Kyle :)It was a cracker! But weren’t we employing a flat back 3 for that game with Carra, Agger and Hyypia? Maybe that is something Rafa could try for next season, maybe have a flat back 3 with Carra, Agger and Skrtel, Dossena as the left wing back, Deggen down the right, Mascherano as DM, Barry and Gerrad as CM’s with Babel having a free role behind Torres.
