I almost fell off my chair this morning when I read that Chelsea were planning to make a £50m bid for Fernando Torres. But the report was quick to say that Torres would not even consider a move to Chelsea and he wants to stay at Anfield and become a legend. With the kind of season Fernando had, it is no surprise that everyone wishes they had him in their team, but hard luck to those other teams; Torres is ours and will be for a long time to come.

If Torres can put in another 30 goals next season I think we will be very close to the title as I am sure the likes of Babel will contribute much more next term than they did last season. And with Stevie G getting a good rest this summer, we should come out firing next season.

Chelsea may have all the money in the world but they will not be able to prize away Torres. Torres revels in the Anfield atmosphere and I am sure that is a major reason he will not leave. There are just some things money can’t buy i.e. The Anfield atmosphere and to have the Kop chanting:

His armband proved he was a red,
Torres Torres!
‘You’ll never walk alone’ it said,
Torres Torres!
We bought the lad from sunny Spain,
He gets the ball and scores again,
Fernando Torres, Liverpool’s number 9!

Chelsea are pushing their luck! Now that Drogba will leave they think they can steal our El Nino!! Not this time Chelski! Can you even picture Torres in that ugly blue kit? It just does not look right. And him playing in probably the least atmospheric stadium in the whole league?

Your right Guy. I think there is going to be a major clear out at Chelsea this summer and who ever their new manager is going to be may have to rebuild the team again. There are rumours that Mourinho is going back there. That would be comica You get fired and then you get your job back after the boss gives you a ferrari!! The things money can do.

You might want to change the line ‘We bought the lady from sunny Spain’ to ‘We bought the lad from sunny Spain’.
