Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named Premier League Young Player of the Season for 2019-20.

The Reds right-back has been a key part to the title winning side as he was part of all 38 games in the season, notching up 13 assists and 4 goals.

Trent broke his own record for assists by a defender in a single Premier League season.

Alexander-Arnold was about Jack Grealish (Aston Villa), Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount (Chelsea) and Dean Henderson (Sheffield United) for the award.

A lot of Liverpool’s success hinges around their full-backs with Alexander-Arnold being a key component. There is still a lot of talk about him being shifted to play in a more central position in midfield due to his passing ability and vision, but for now it seems he will continue on to play at right-back and hopefully he can go on to become the best in the world in that position, if he is already not.
