Liverpool fans were enjoying a video posted on Twitter by Kloppholic this week; which showed Tottenham midfielder Giovanni Lo Celso waiting in the tunnel to claim Mohamed Salah’s shirt.

The Argentine midfielder can be seen asking the Egyptian attacker for his match-worn shirt following Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s side on Sunday. The video has been met positively by a large number of Liverpool fans, with many saluting the respect between the two players.

Salah has become one of sport’s biggest superstars since his move to Liverpool in 2017, recently being named one of the world’s 100 most influential people by Time magazine. The 27-year-old has been sensational since his return to the Premier League, winning the golden boot in his first season, and sharing it with team-mate Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the last campaign.

The former Roma man has started this season in similar fashion to the last, with an impressive 7.47 average rating so far in all competitions. It is perhaps no surprise that Lo Celso, who faced Salah for the first time since signing in the summer, was keen to secure the superstar’s shirt following their Sunday fixture.

Some of the best reactions from Liverpool fans to the video can be seen in the tweets below.

Liverpool fans were clearly happy to see Lo Celso being such a fan of Salah, with many agreeing that the Egyptian has become a superstar in his two years at the club.

What do we think?

Spurs fans perhaps won’t have liked the fact that Lo Celso wanted Salah’s shirt directly after a loss, but it is good to see the level of respect between two top-level footballers. Salah has established himself as one of the best players in the world, so we cannot blame players for wanting to celebrate being on the same pitch as him.
