Liverpool fans were full of praise for Pep Lijnders after his well-spoken press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Fans were treated to an in-depth conference from the Dutch assistant manager as he discussed Liverpool’s upcoming Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal. Lijnders rejoined Liverpool’s coaching staff in 2018 after briefly departing to take over Dutch club NEC, but he departed from the club just five months later.
Lijnders is held in high regard at Liverpool and at just 36-years-old, could be seen by many as the man to take over should Jurgen Klopp ever leave Anfield. Lijnders was asked to take the press conference in place of manager Jurgen Klopp, who has allowed his assistant to cover press conferences ahead of each of their Carabao Cup games so far.
Some of the best reactions to Lijnders’ press conference can be seen in the tweets below.

What do we think?
Liverpool fans are clearly big admirers of their assistant manager and feel as if the Dutchman is the first choice to potentially take over as manager in the future. Of course, Reds fans will not be looking to see Jurgen Klopp leave any time soon, but Lijnders is seen as an ideal replacement if the German manager should depart.
