Liverpool’s 4-0 win over West Ham on Sunday gave us a reminder of the quality Daniel Sturridge possesses. The Liverpool striker divides opinion among the fans and this coming summer is going to be very interesting to see what the Liverpool bosses decide to do with the number 15.

It is no secret that Sturridge’s career at Liverpool has been hampered by injuries over the last few seasons. But when he is fit, there are fewer strikers in the league who are as good at finishing as him. One just has to look at his opening goal against West Ham to see the natural quality he has. A fully fit Sturridge who can give you 30 games in a season would be an asset to any team in the league.

But do Liverpool gamble with Sturridge again for the upcoming season and hang onto him in the hope that he does not get injured? Or is it time to cash in on him and get some value for money from him?

Following the West Ham match, Sturridge came out and said, “The manager has shown faith in me and we have a good relationship as well.

“The fans have been different class. I don’t have any worries about next season.

“I am looking forward to this last game. We need the three points of course and then we’ll be in the Champions League.”

It sounds as if Sturridge is confident that he will still be around next season and emphasised that he has a good relationship with Jurgen Klopp.

The ball is in Klopp’s hands now when it comes to Sturridge’s future.
