France Football are reporting that Liverpool chief scout Kevin Hunt is monitoring Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore.
The 26 year old has had an injury plagued season at the Parc des Princes and has had limited first team opportunities. He has only made 13 starts and 12 substitute appearances, but has scored three goals and provided five assists in all competitions.
In addition to his injury troubles, the arrival of Angel Di Maria from Manchester United last summer has meant he has been consigned to the bench by Laurent Blanc for much of the campaign, and he could be looking for a move.
France Football believe that Pastore matches the criteria set out by Jurgen Klopp for new players, good in possession and incisive in attack, and Hunt was seen watching PSG’s 4-0 win over Rennes on Friday, with fellow team mate Mamadou Doucoure (who plays in PSG’s youth team) also being monitored by the Reds.
