Liverpool are expected to sign Neven Subotic from Borussia Dortmund this summer, according to local German newspaper die Waz.
The 27 year old has fallen out of favour under manager Thomas Tuchel with Mats Hummels, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and utility player Sven Bender all ahead of the Serbian in the pecking order at the German club. The Serbian international does however have a contract until 2018.
Subotic has not played since March against Tottenham in both legs of the Europa League last 16 tie, as he has been ruled out until the end of the season with thrombosis in his arm which prevents him from participating in any physical activity.
The centre back has only played 11 times in all competitions this season, with 5 starts in the Bunderliga, 3 starts in the Europa League and 3 other substitute appearances. With Jurgen Klopp already bringing in Joel Matip from Schalke on a free transfer, it looks as though he is looking to change his centre back options for next season.
