Juventus have joined Liverpool in the pursuit of Empoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
The future of the 21 year old has given rise to much speculation in recent weeks with the Reds reportedly in contact with Zielinski’s parent club Udinese after their sporting director Cristiano Giaretta confirmed to an Italian radio station that there as “concrete interest” from Liverpool.
On loan at Empoli, Zielinski has impressed with four goals and four assists in 33 matches, helping Empoli to stay clear of the relegation zone in Serie A, sitting comfortably in 12th place with 42 points from 35 matches. No doubt the Polish international’s form for the Azzurri has attracted the interest of newly crowned Italian champions Juve.
Napoli’s defeat against Roma yesterday afternoon means that Juventus now have won 5 consecutive Serie A championships, their longest spell of dominance since the 1930s.
Zielinski would command a fee of €15million, according to reports in Italy.
