Juventus Sporting Director Beppe Marotta has revealed that the future of Liverpool target Alvaro Morata depends on Real Madrid.
Spanish side Madrid have a buyback clause of €30million in Morata’s contract and if they trigger it, it could lead to a number of other transfers in the summer transfer window. Marotta says that he wants to keep the Spanish international in Turin but it rather depends on what Madrid do with the buyback clause, saying to Tuttosport:
“We want to keep the player and our goal is to immediately resolve the issue with Real Madrid in order to plan for the future. Because this situation will determine our [transfer] strategies. Cavani? In fact, it depends on Morata.”
Marotta is saying that if Real Madrid do decide to buy back 23 year old Morata, Juve will go after Paris Saint-Germain’s Edison Cavani with the €30million from Morata’s transfer partly funding the deal. Morata himself however is not likely to stay at Real for long as according to Tuttosport, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is willing to re-sell Morata straight away for €50-60million with Liverpool, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund all interested in the player.
