Borussia Dortmund are in talks to sign young starlet Ousmane Dembele from Ligue One side Rennes for €5million, according to Bild.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked with the youngster recently but the report in the German newspaper said an agreement in principle had been reached for the 18 year old to join the German club this summer. His agent Badou Sambague however has subsequently denied any deal has been agreed with Dortmund and that it is purely speculation, telling Foot Mercato:

“I deny categorically any agreement with Borussia Dortmund or whoever it might be. Ousmane is finishing his season. If there is a lot of speculation about him, as with many players, it remains speculation. The journalists are doing their job — everyone is doing their job. But there is no agreement between Ousmane and another club for next season.”

Dembele has been in scintillating form for Rennes in Ligue One this campaign scoring 12 goals in 18 starts in his breakthrough season for the French club. He is currently seventh in the list of Ligue One top goalscorers this season, behind Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette (17 league goals) and Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi (15 league goals) who have also been linked with the Reds in recent weeks.
