Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is considering whether to leave the club in the summer, according to ESPN FC UK. The Reds defender is looking at this options after his game time has been restricted since his return from injury.

Skrtel, now 31, was a regular for both Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp this campaign until December when his suffered a serious hamstring injury which kept him out for 2 months at the start of 2016.

Since the 3-0 defeat to Watford in December he has appeared just twice despite the number of matches Liverpool have played in recent weeks and months. His first appearance after injury came as a second half substitute for Dejan Lovren against Southampton back in late March. His poor display in the second half helped the Saints turn around a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 victory.

The Slovakian did however start against Stoke last week but with Jurgen Klopp selecting a young, inexperienced side in the 2-1 win against Bournemouth after the Reds heroics against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League, Lucas Leiva and Kolo Toure were picked ahead of him with the 31 year old not even in the squad.
