Empoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski has revealed he has not spoken to Jurgen Klopp about moving to Liverpool. Quoted in Il Tirreno when asked about talking to Klopp, he said:
“Absolutely no. I talked to some Polish media when I was with the national team and evidently something in the translation was wrong. I said I know that Liverpool is interested in me and they should have already spoken with Udinese.”
Zielinski is currently on loan at Empoli from Udinese and has played 30 times in Serie A this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists. The 21 year old is in his second season on loan with Empoli and has impressed with his creativity from a central midfield position. He made his debut for Poland back in 2013 and has gone on to make 13 appearances for his country scoring three times and two in one match against San Marino in a 4-1 victory in a 2014 World Cup qualifier.
The Reds meanwhile, after their spectacular comeback from 3-1 down to win 4-3 against Dortmund in the Europa League quarter final second leg at Anfield, will face Bournemouth away in the league this Sunday.
