Liverpool are targeting Rennes’s young french attacking midfielder Ousmane Dembele, according to RMC sport. The 18 year old has burst onto the scene this season, scoring on his debut in a 2-2 draw against Bordeaux in the Ligue One match back in November. So far Dembele has scored 12 goals in 17 starts and has made 5 assists. He has also been nominated man of the match seven times already this season; an astonishing start to his professional career.

This has brought him to the attention of a number of top European clubs including Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and also Liverpool. RMC are reporting that a Reds scout has been at Rennes games over the last few weeks tracking Dembele, and that he was also in the stands watching the Frenchman at the weekend when Rennes lost 3-0 away to Nice

Dembele can play right across the midfield, and has been utilised by Rennes on the right wing, left wing, in central midfield and occasionally up front. At 5ft 9, he isn’t the strongest in the air but he likes to dribble the ball and takes responsibility for free kicks and set pieces.
