Liverpool are set to battle it out with Merseyside Rivals Everton for the signing of Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico, according to the Sunday Express. The 22 year old is also being pursued by Southampton and could cost up to £15million.

The Spanish keeper has already appeared 35 times in all competitions this season and is tipped for great things both at club and international level. He only made his debut back in September 2014 after injuries to Sevilla’s first and second choice goalkeepers but he made a big impression and was called up by Spanish manager Vicente Del Bosque for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus last May despite not even having a full season of first team action behind him.

Now though, after establishing himself as first choice for the Seville club and helping them to the quarter final of the Europa League and to 7th in La Liga, Rico is interesting the Reds as Jurgen Klopp looks to provide some much needed competition for the inconsistent Reds number one Simon Mignolet. The Belgian has a save percentage of just 61.2%, 19th best in the Premier League this season compared to Aresenal’s Petr Cech whose save percentage is 77.9%.
