The Gazzetta Dello Sport believe that Italian Serie A side Udinese are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Jordan Rossiter. The 19 year old is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree a new deal. The Reds would be due compensation for the player as he is under 24 years of age but many would be disappointed to see a local player, who seemingly has a bright future ahead of him, leave the club.
Rossiter is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and hasn’t played for the Reds since he came on as a second half substitute against FC Sion in a 0-0 draw in the Europa League back in December. He commented about his injury recovery back in February explaining Jon Flanagan was an inspiration to him:
“Every day I’m here working hard in the gym and I look outside and see everybody training. It’s a bit frustrating but I know I’ll hopefully get my chance in [matches] and in training. I think that’s always the case, you’ve always got to work hard. Jon Flanagan was out for around 18 to 20 months and I look at him, he’s come back in and done brilliantly in the Stoke game and Exeter game. It’s something I’ll look to do.”
The Reds’ next game is against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League in the 2nd leg of their Quarter final tie on Thursday.
