Liverpool are stepping up their attempts to sign Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho, according to the Mirror
The paper believes that the Reds are prepared to meet the 25 year old’s £10million buyout clause although the Spanish club want to renegotiate his contract so he doesn’t leave so cheaply.
Camacho is a holding midfielder by trade and has made 16 appearance so far this season scoring two goals in the process. He started his career at Atletico Madrid making his debut for the club in March 2008 coming on as a substitute in a 4-2 victory over Barcelona. He was then sold to Malaga in 2011 to get more first team football.
He has been a mainstay of the side making over 100 league appearances for the Spanish Club and he made his debut for Spain back in 2014 coming on as a half time substitute for Sergio Busquets in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Germany.
Camacho is just one of the names rumoured to be on Jurgen Klopp’s hit list as he looks to reshape the Liverpool squad in the summer. In the forefront of his mind though will be tonight’s Europa League quarter final tie against his old club Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
