Sometimes English footballers don’t get the credit they deserve in terms of technical ability. All too often we associate tricks and flicks with players from South America or Spain, but one man the Three Lions can rely upon for moments of magic on the ball is Adam Lallana. The Liverpool ace really is an attacking midfielder moulded in the continental style, with his composure on the ball and deft touch having made him one of the most feared players in his position in the Premier League.

After breaking through at Southampton, where he drew comparisons with Matt Le Tissier for his talents, he joined the Reds in a big money move last summer and has since played in the Champions League while maintaining his role in the England set-up.

As a part of JD Sports’ Freestyle Focus campaign, freestyle footballer Oliver Hayes caught up with the 27-year-old to talk about his experiences as a young footballer, life at Anfield and which players make the toughest opponents in English football.

Watch the video by JD Sports below… and make sure you hang on to see what Lallana does at the very end… it’s worth the wait!
