Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola wants a replacement for the injury-prone Franck Ribery and sees Raheem Sterling as the best option, according to Bild.

Sterling’s future at the Merseyside club has burdened them for the most part of the season, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City all linked with a cut-price summer move.

The Reds have been keen to agree a new improved and extended deal with the England international but talks have faltered after beginning around the turn of the year.

And, now, according to sources from Sky Sports – the winger is ready to call time on his Anfield future, sparking a transfer tussle between those aforementioned clubs and Germans side Bayern Munich.

Boss Pep Guardiola is keen to pursue a move for the England international and see him replace Franck Ribery, who has struggled with injuries this season.

Sterling is said to be keen on a move outside of England after suffering weeks of negative press about his contract situation at Anfield.
