Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling won his club’s Young Player of the Year award but was met with boos and negative tweets from fans.

Sterling’s future at the Merseyside club has burdened them for the most part of the season, with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester City all linked with a cut-price summer move.

The Reds have been keen to agree a new improved and extended deal with the England international but talks have faltered after beginning around the turn of the year.

And, now, according to sources from Sky Sports – the winger is ready to call time on his Anfield future.

The England international was awarded the Young Player of the Year award on Tuesday evening at the club awards but was booed and jeered by attendees, before thousands of fans hit Twitter to show their unhappiness at the decision.
