Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that his side are going to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to beat the newly crowned Premier League Champions.

Jose Mourinho’s side clinched the crown with three games remaining after they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 last weekend and will be looking to celebrate in style against the Reds on Sunday.

The Blues have won 14 games at home this season and are yet to lose in front of their home fans in the league, but Rodgers is keen to halt that statistic.

Liverpool sit four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United with three games remaining, and the manager hopes to keep the pressure on Louis van Gaal’s side in the race for Champions League qualification.

“We’re going into the game at the weekend looking to win,” he said.

“Chelsea are obviously deserved champions, they’ve been the best team, but all we can do is control the last three games, look to win those and see where we end up. I’m purely focused on the game.

“I congratulated [Mourinho]. They’re the deserving champions and to win it with a few games to go is obviously pleasing for him.

“But it doesn’t take away from what we’re looking to do and we want to finish the season strong.

“We played well in the [League Cup semi-final] game at Chelsea but hopefully this time we can play well and get the result.”

There could be a possibility, but it all depends on which Balotelli turns up.
