Liverpool look set to make a summer bid for Fiorentina keeper Neto after reignited their interest in the Brazilian at the weekend.

The 25-year-old Brazilian keeper has been strongly linked with a move to England with Liverpool keen to replace Simon Mignolet, who has been criticised for a whole host of errors this season.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has watched Neto on several occasions this season and was said to be buoyed by the news earlier this year that the keeper will leave the Serie A club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Northern Irish boss’s interest did die down a little as he looked at other targets, but it is now understood that he has given the green light to his officials to submit a contract offer.

Neto’s deal at Stadio Artemio Franchi is now into its final six months at the Italian club and will be free to potential suitors.

If anything he will go to a team in the CL and if that’s in this country it will be to a London team because his wag won’t go anywhere else.
