Liverpool striker, Daniel Sturridge, looks to be a game-time decision for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final aganst Aston Villa.
The England international missed yet another traning session on Thursday, casting some serious doubt about his availability for the big match against Villa.
While not having Sturridge in the starting lineup is a blow to Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool’s odds of winning the match, the Reds have become accustomed to not having Sturridge’s services.
The striker has struggled to regain his fitness all season. Nagging injuries have cost Sturridge the majority of this season’s campaign. Sturridge’s injury nightmare started back in last summer’s World Cup when he suffered a thigh injury playing for England.
The loss of Sturridge has put more of an emphasis on Raheem Sterling to be the go-to man in big games. Sterling has had a nice campaign and Rodgers will surely be looking to his star winger in a pressure-packed FA Cup semi-final match on Sunday.
