Liverpool are sweating over the future of Raheem Sterling, with the Daily Mirror reporting the teenager has put talks over a new contract on hold until the end of the season.

The Reds have been negotiating with Sterling over a new deal since October, with the 20-year-old said to have rejected an offer of £100,000 a week last month – despite being on £35,000 a week at present.

Brendan Rodgers said previously he was ‘adament’ Sterling would sign an extension at Anfield, and also insisted a deal would be concluded ‘imminently.’

But the fact he has moved to delay talks until the summer will come as a concern to Liverpool fans, who have seen their star man linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris St Germain and Chelsea already this season.

Do you think Raheem Sterling will sign a new contract at Liverpool? Let us know your thoughts below.

I agree with Lee the greedy kid would never have got the start he has had with any of the other top sides and he wants to kick the club in the teeth.

Football agents are a scourge to the game.
