A tunnel bust up between Jordan Henderson and Diego Costa has added extra spice to next week’s Capital One Cup semi final second leg at Stamford Bridge.
The Liverpool vice-captain and the Chelsea striker were reportedly involved in a heated exchange following Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Anfield, which resulted in the players having to be seperated by teammates in the tunnel following the final whistle.
The press association understands there was no physical contact between the players, whilst Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was left unaware of the confrontation.
It adds extra incentive for both sides ahead of Tuesday’s second leg, with the Reds unfortunate to only manage a 1-1 draw on Tuesday having dominated for much of the game.
