Brendan Rodgers has refused to comment on reports linking Fernando Torres with a return to Liverpool.

The 30-year-old is reportedly available for a cut price £10million fee this January, having manged just one goal in 10 appearances since moving to AC Milan on loan in the summer.

Torres enjoyed the most prolific spell of his career at Anfield, before moving to Chelsea for £50million in January 2011.

But Rodgers has refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Spanish forward with a return to Liverpool.

“I won’t comment on any player linked to here.

“My only concentration is working with the group here and if there’s a possibility of strengthening in January, we’ll take a look – at the right type of player.”
