Liverpool will look to replace Inter Milan bound Mario Balotelli with West Brom striker and Manchester United target Saido Berahino, according to the Daily Express.

The Reds look set to battle with Tottenham for the England Under-21 star, who has fired eight goals for the Baggies this season.

Brendan Rodgers has identified Berahino as a direct replacement for Mario Balotelli, who looks set to return to Inter Milan following the re-appointment of former boss Roberto Mancini.

Balotelli has scored just twice since his £16million move from AC Milan in the summer, and is yet to open his Premier League account.

The report suggests Brendan Rodgers is ready to pay up to £24million to land the striker in early January, with the Reds desperate to sign a goalscorer for the second half of the season.

Great….another huge transfer fee for not a proven goal scorer, but an upcoming talent! Apparently, you just can’t find a striker with the required abilities anywhere without huge transfer fees!
