Daniel Sturridge has returned to training with Liverpool, having missed the clubs last 14 matches in all competitions.

”Training was class. Happy to be back,” Sturridge tweeted on Wednesday, having written on social media after Saturday’s defeat to Chelsea he was ”looking forward to returning to full training next week”.

The 25-year-old has not featured for the Reds since the 0-3 win over Tottenham on August 31, and said prior to the defeat against Chelsea he hoped to return for the next Premier League clash at Crystal Palace.

”I’ll be ready for that one, God willing,” Sturridge told BT Sport at the weekend.

”It’s the worst feeling to be honest but that’s football. Everyone picks injuries up.”

During the time Sturridge has been sidelined the Reds have won just five games – two of those in the Capital One Cup – and lost seven.

Mario Balotelli, Fabio Borini and Rickie Lambert are yet to fire in the Premier League during the England international’s absence.

It’s great news that Danny is back in training shame Rodgers will probably try and play him in goal. Although he’d be a step up from Mingolet.
