Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on the fitness of Emre Can, Joe Allen, Dejan Lovren and Daniel Sturridge ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

“Thankfully, we have got a number of our other injured players back,” said the manager. “Joe Allen is training and looking really well, Emre Can is back, Glen Johnson is back in. So that side is looking healthy.

“Dejan will hopefully be fine for the weekend. We’ll have to see tomorrow how Dan is. We just need to see by tomorrow where he’s at and then we’ll take it from there.

“He has obviously been out for a long time, nearly six weeks. He is working tirelessly with the medical team – I have got an incredible sports science and medical team here.

“They really focus in on his rehabilitation. He’s a top-class talent and he’ll be looking forward to getting back once he’s ready.”

Sturridge has not featured since the Reds 3-0 win over Tottenham on August 31, and Rodgers is excited by the prospect of his imminent return.

“He’s an excellent player that not only creates space for himself but for others,” Rodgers added.

An hour after Rodgers tells us how brilliant his `sports science `& medic. team is , he is telling us that Sturridge will be missing for another month . I am absolutely sick to death of this con man & his inane ramblings . He spends around 120 mill. replaces Luis with a cart horse for 4m. & Balotelli for 16 m & between them they have managed one goal . Still will not tell the truth why he did not sign Remy for 8m.
