Kenny Dalglish has joked that Liverpool will take Luis Suarez back to Anfield on loan should he fail at Barcelona.

Suarez was presented with the golden shoe by the man who signed him for Liverpool last night, a reward for being joint top goal scorer in Europe last season with 31 goals.

And whilst Dalglish has backed the 27-year-old to be a major success in Spain, the Scot insists he would be welcome back at Anfield any time should he struggle at his new club.

“I don’t think there will be anybody who will be able to stop him,” Dalglish said.

“He has been fantastic everywhere he has been – a huge success and fabulously entertaining. There is no reason why he won’t continue that for Barcelona.

“But if he does hit a problem, I’m sure we can take him back on loan.”

Suarez, who gave thanks to Liverpool in his acceptance speech, says he is eager to start a new chapter at Barcelona.

“Right now I am at 100 percent. A player always needs to be prepared, and making a debut at the Bernabeu would be wonderful, given the rivalry that exists,” he said.
