Luis Suarez has been told he will not be allowed to return to Anfield to collect his European Golden Shoe award, reports the Express.
The Uruguayan fired 31 goals for the Reds last season to share the award with Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, and had hoped to be presented with the award in front of his old supporters.
Suarez has since completed a £75million move to Barcelona, but wanted to return to Anfield to celebrate the award with the fans who saw him score the goals to win the award last season.
But according to World Soccer, Suarez has been told that idea will not be possible.
Instead, Suarez has arranged for Anfield legend and former boss Kenny Dalglish to fly to Barcelona to present him with the award next week.
The 27-year-old had hoped Steven Gerrard would also be able to join him at the event, however reports suggest the Liverpool skipper is unable to travel.
