Liverpool are ready to make a new bid for Napoli striker and Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain, according to the Express.
Reports in Brazil claim Napoli rejected an offer of £22million plus Lucas Leiva for the Argentine striker in the summer, but Brendan Rodgers is ready to try his luck one more in January.
The striker has been linked with a move away from the Serie A club for some time, with the future of manager Rafael Benitez unclear after a poor start to the season.
Arsenal have also been linked with the former Real Madrid striker, although a defensive midfielder and a new centre back remain the priorities for the Gunners when the window opens.
Rodgers is hoping Higuain can add the goals to an attack which has struggled with the absence of Daniel Sturridge so far this season.
Summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have managed just one goal between them so far, having moved for a combined total of £20million in the summer.
