Liverpool look to have lost another player to injury whilst on international duty, as Dejan Lovren was forced to withdraw from the Croatia squad after sustaining a groin injury.
The £20million summer signing from Southampton is the latest player to injure himself whilst away with his country, after Joe Allen, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge all returned from the previous break with injuries.
Lovren is set to arrive back at Liverpool either later today or tomorrow to be assessed, having pulled up during training with Croatia.
Brendan Rodgers is now facing something of a defensive crisis, with Mamadou Sakho expected to be out of action for another 10 days at least.
That could leave the Liverpool boss with just two fit centre backs for the Premier League clash with QPR and the Champions League game against Real Madrid, with Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure set to step in.
Lovren has been an ever-present at the heart of the Reds defence so far this season.
If liverpool sold R .sterling it we be another loose to reds.
