Liverpool have beaten Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea to the £8million signing of MK Dons starlet Dele Alli, according to the Express.

The 18-year-old has been tipped for great things by many, with some outstanding performances for Karl Robinson’s side.

Despite his tender age, Dele Alli has already been given labels such as ‘the English Messi’ and the ‘new Steven Gerrard.’

The midfielder only signed a new contract with the Dons recently, but Robinson admitted it was likely he would move on shortly.

He stole the show during the Dons 4-0 Capital One Cup win over Manchester United, and reports in Spain suggest he has dealt Louis van Gaal’s side another major blow by agreeing a long term deal with Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is set to spend £8million on the youngster in January, before allowing him to rejoin MK Dons on loan for the remainder of the season.

And manager Robinson conceded that it was just a matter of time before a big club came in for the youngster, saying: “It’s inevitable that there will be a time when we will have to let him go, whether that be in January, next summer or whenever.”
