Jamie Carragher has hit out at the agent of Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling for leaking stories to the press in an attempt to get the teenager a better contract, reports the Independent.
Sterling has been one of the stand-out performers for Liverpool over the past 12 months, and has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
But Carragher believes this is the work of agent Robert Segal, and has hit out at the teenagers agent on Twitter.
Carragher wrote: “Message to Raheem Sterling agent, shut up feeding stories about his contract.”
Carragher’s outburst follows stories Liverpool were facing a battle to keep Sterling at Anfield.
He currently has two years left to run on his £30,000 a week contract, but Liverpool are keen to tie him to a more lucrative long-term deal sooner rather than later.
