Liverpool made a winning return to the Champions League last night, edging a nervy encounter 2-1 against Bulgarian champions FC Ludogorets.
Brendan Rodgers admits that his Liverpool side were well below their best on what looked set to be a frustrating night in front of a packed Anfield.
But Liverpool were able to show the Champions League spirit that has proved so crucial to them in the past, and nick a 93rd minute winner to kick off the tournament in dramatic fashion.
