Liverpool are considering a £24million move for Lazio star Antonio Candreva, according to the Daily Star.

The 27-year-old attracted interest from a number of top European clubs in the summer, including Brendan Rodgers side.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito was quick to rule out the possibility of selling the Italian international during the summer window, but fresh reports suggest Brendan Rodgers will attempt to bring him to Anfield in January.

Lazio remain reluctant to sell the former Udinese man, but an offer of £24million may prove too good to turn down.

Candreva is eager to play in the Champions League, and expressed that desire in an interview with Gazetta dello Sport in July.

He said: “A player’s ambitions are to do good things and to play at the best clubs and to play in the Champions League.

“I hope to play a good World Cup, then I’ll be happy about what will happen.”
