Fabio Borini is yet to make a decision regarding his future as Sunderland’s £14million bid still stands and links to potential Napoli move surface report Sky Sports.

The Liverpool striker will fall further down the pecking order at Anfield with the news of the arrival of international team mate Mario Balotelli. Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has admitted that he is in the dark over any potential deal having been extremely vocal about wanting Borini to return to the Black Cats, the club he spent last year on loan at scoring 7 important goals to help keep then up.

Borini’s agent, Marco Antonio De Marchi, had this to say on proceedings:

“About 20 days ago, Sunderland made a really important offer for Borini, about 18million euros, what will happen after the 31st August I don’t know.

“Napoli would be good, but I have not spoken to them yet.

“Should they call me, I have to listen.”

It had been believed that Borini would opt to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool rather than seek a move elsewhere but with Balotelli on the way in the 23 year old may now reconsider. He may need to decide soon as Poyet is fast losing patience and is said to be considering his options to prepare for missing out on his number one target. The Uruguayan said this:

“I don’t know, to be honest, I don’t know if we need to put a date on it or not. I don’t know.”

“It’s a daily thing. If something incredible comes in and we need to make a decision – a player that we cannot say no to – then I am sure there will be a few phone calls saying ‘now or never’ both ways.”
