Liverpool are confident an offer of £16million will be enough to secure the signing of Wilfried Bony from Swansea, according to the Metro.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with the Reds consistently over the summer, and Brendan Rodgers is now preparing a bid for the 25-year-old as he hopes to land a striker before the close of the transfer window.

The Reds are understood to have already had an offer of £12.5million rejected for the forward, who fired 17 goals in 34 appearances during his first season in England.

But the Reds are confident an offer of £16million will be enough to complete the deal, given the fact Bony is keen to move to Anfield and the prospect of Champions League football.

Would you like to see Wilfried Bony signed this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.

I guess he’ll do since our options seem to be limited

  2. Liverpool must sign bony at all curse

I would rather we sign Ezequel Lavezzi to Bony. He’s got the pace, the skills and the overall experience of the Champ’s League. And above all, he know where the post is. And IMO, Lavezzi is a squad player best suited to any role in the front three. At 18m, he will be a great steal for LFC as opposed to Bony for 16m. I seriously hope Rodgers and Ayre can put on a thinking cap on this one.

Lavezzi doesn’t have the prolific scoring ability we need..bony is proven in epl and will guarantee 15/20 goals a season..lavezzi will not!!!

      • RedCourtinho says:

Tom I think you’ll find Lavezzi has the better scoring record!

        2004–2005 San Lorenzo (loan) 18 (13)
        2005–2007 San Lorenzo 66(44)
        2007–2012 Napoli 156(122)
        2014– Date Paris Saint-Germain 60(45)

That’s 224 goals in 300 games! 2.2 goals every 3 games! Quite Prolific.

While Wilfred Bony on the other hand

        2008–2011 Sparta Prague 59 (22)
        2011–2013 Vitesse 65 (46)
        2013–Date Swansea City 34 (16)

        That’s 84 goals in 156 games! 1 in 2 games.

        Lavezzi has the better record.

Lavezzi is not a 90 minute player anymore

He is nearly 30 years old

And not worth anything near 18M more like 5-6 Million

Don’t think BR is even considering him and if he does it will be a waste of money

Bony is the best of many bad options

  5. Carl McKintosh says:

    Leandro Damiao, Stephen Al Sharawi…

  6. REGHAN says:

I really hope Moreno deal is completed soon , a fantastic player great work by the club getting this player. I wish Bony joins as well. He’ll be terrific for us upfront. We also need a better keeper. My choice would be to sell Assaidi to Stoke and get Begovic as part of the deal. Loads better than Mignolet at the moment. Would also make a bid for Guiseppe Rossi after selling Borini to Sunderland
