Edinson Cavani is the latest big name to be linked with a move to Liverpool, after the Uruguayan’s agent confirmed the Reds had made an enquiry about his availability, according to ESPN.
Brendan Rodgers has been on the hunt for a top class replacement for Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona for a fee of £75million earlier this summer.
But agent Claudio Annelluci has revealed the Reds were not the only Premier League club to make an enquiry.
“There was much interest in the player during the past six months. I can confirm that Cavani has heard proposals from Liverpool and Arsenal,” Uruguayan newspaper El Telegrafo has reported him as saying.
“He would love to play in England, but has not yet made a final decision. He is not interested in money and fame — he just wants to be happy playing football.”
Cavani would certainly not come cheap, with the Uruguayan only moving to Paris St Germain 12 months ago for a fee of £53million.
Reports of a move away have been constant since his move however, with the forward said to be unhappy at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and often forced to play out wide.
