Dejan Lovren is confident Liverpool will challenge for the Premier League title over the course of the 2014-15 season, reports Sky Sports.

The Croatian centre back became Brendan Rodgers fifth summer signing earlier this week, putting pen to paper on a long term deal after a £20million fee was agreed with Southampton.

Lovren is the third player to swap St Mary’s for Anfield this summer, following Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana to L4.

The Reds have also added Emre Can, Lazar Markovic and Divock Origi to their ranks this summer, and Lovren reckons the clubs new found and strength in depth will see them mount another title challenge this season – despite the fact last season’s top scorer Luis Suarez has been sold to Barcelona.

He told Sportske Novosti: “Luis Suarez is gone, that is true. He is great striker and it would have been great if he had stayed.

“But his departure will not mean anything for Liverpool. Each player can be replaced. Liverpool bought five quality players and I think many more will come.

“I’m 100 per cent sure that we will fight for Premier League title. But not only that. We can win in Europe too.”

Do you agree with Lovren? Will this season see us challenge for the title, or will it prove a campaign of transition with so many new faces? Let us know your thoughts below.
