Liverpool’s 4-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday was a fantastic result especially after defeating Norwich 5-1 a few days ago. One thing Liverpool is more than capable of doing these days is scoring goals, we just need to tighten up on our defending and starting keeping some clean sheets.

The joy of the victory was not only experienced by the fans but the players too. Liverpool fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the game:

Sakho had a brilliant game for Liverpool having been drafted into the starting lineup for Daniel Agger who was ruled out due to illness. Sakho who was signed from PSG this season was an absolute beast as he won virtually everything in the air and produced some telling interceptions. The giant French defender also managed to grab his first goal for the Reds against West Ham.

Rodgers now was a lot to think about when it comes to picking his best two central defenders. For me, Sakho and Skrtel should be our first choice pairing.

Glen Johnson looked assured down the Liverpool right but went to sleep to allow West Ham to score as he poorly marked Jarvis when they cross came into the box. But besides that, he looked good going forward, especially his pin point cross for Suarez’s headed goal. When Gerrard went off injured, Johnson was handed the captains armband as vice captain Daniel Agger was not playing. This was a great honour for Johnson as you can see from his Tweet.

Mignolet pulled off an amazing save from Maiga in the first half when the scores were still 0-0. Things may have been very different if West Ham had taken an early lead. There is no doubt that Liverpool have a fine goalkeeper in Mignolet and one of the best shot stoppers in the game. He is right, it was a great win and now we have to look forward to playing Spurs on Sunday in London, which will be a tough game but one we can win.

Another good game from the Brazilian playmaker. Liverpool are a much better team with Coutinho in it as he links up play brilliantly between midfield and attack. If he continues in this form, he certainly has to make the Brazil side for the World Cup.

Young Jon Flanagan is slowly making the left back position his own after Jose Enrique’s injury and Aly Cissokho’s poor form. Although Flano offers very little going forward, he is doing his job defending very well. He looks set to be the first choice left back up until Enrique returns from injury.

It would have been great to see Alberto play some part in the game today. When Sterling was subbed off, I hoped Alberto would come in for him so he can get somemore game time under his belt. Brendan Rodgers surely needs to start playing the young Spanish attacker at some point as he has bags of talent.
