There is a lot of speculation linking Liverpool with a move for Barcelona’s full back Martin Montoya. It is been said that Ian Ayre has flown out to Barcelona to try secure a deal for the 22-year old who can play either left or right back.
With the injury to Jose Enrique and the poor form of Aly Cissokho, it is no surprise that Liverpool are looking to bring in left back cover.

I suspect that if he’s signed, it’s as a long term alternative for Johnson, 29 and on a massive contract.. I don’t imagine FSG would be too keen to renew him, whereas a young player who would have a potentially huge resale value and could be put on a reward based deal would be an ideal option for them.
