Daniel Sturridge only managed to start from the bench last weekend against Everton due to him not being 100% fit following his excursions for England in midweek. But Brendan Rodgers has today at his pre-Hull press conference said that Sturridge has trained well.

“He has certainly trained very hard this week”, said Rodgers on Liverpoolfc.com. “We’ve got another day to go to prepare and see where all the players are at.

“I like to give all the players every chance to show that they can be in the team. He has worked exceptionally well and, when he does that, his quality is there for everyone to see.”

With Joe Allen failing to make a big impact against Everton, it is highly likely that Rodgers will recall Sturridge back into the starting lineup for the trip to Hull and rekindle his partnership with Luis Suarez.

Rodgers also gave an update on any other injury concerns in the squad right now and he said that there is nothing new at the moment.

So with a clean bill of health going into this tie, Liverpool should be able to pick their best lineup to do the job.
