Liverpool’s on loan forward, Victor Moses has been named Nigeria’s Footballer of the Year for 2013. Moses beat of competition from Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel and CA Bastia’s Sunday Mba who were the other nominees for the award.

Moses joined Liverpool on a season long loan from Chelsea this season and he got his Liverpool career going with a goal against Swansea. Moses then struggled as Rodgers switched to a 3-5-2 formation and asked Moses to play in the number 10 role which was not his most natural. Moses is better suited playing out wide where he is able to take on defenders with his pace and skill.

Now that Liverpool has switched back to a 4-3-3 formation, we could start to see the best of Moses again, just like we saw against Everton when he came on in the second half and created more attacking options for the Reds.

With Nigeria all set of the World Cup in Brazil next year, Moses will be a key part of that side and will hope to guide Nigeria into the knock out stages.

It will be interesting to see if Brendan Rodgers decides to make Moses’ loan deal a permanent one in the summer. At only 22-years of age, he still has a lot to learn in the game and can go on to become a future star.

Should Liverpool sign Victor Moses on a permanent deal?
