5 Options for Rodgers to consider at left back with Enrique being ruled out for 10 weeks

2) Jon Flanagan

Young Jon Flanagan was called upon by Brendan Rodgers in the Merseyside Derby to play at left back in place of the injured Enrique and ahead of Cissokho.

This was a big test for Flano but he pulled through with flying colours and was seen by many as the man of the match for Liverpool.

Flanagan is known as a right back but he came in at left back against Everton and did a fantastic job. I recall Arbeloa being a right back but being asked to play left back by Rafa Benitez on his debut against Barcelona. So it is not uncommon for a right back to fill in at left back.

Following his fine display against Everton, I can see Rodgers giving him another chance against Hull in that position. Whether Flanagan is the long term solution at left back remains to be seen.
